Placemaking Webinar Series: Module 5

Collaborative Public Involvement in Placemaking

Placemaking is a simple concept based on a single principle - people choose to live in places that offer the amenities, resources, social and professional networks, and opportunities to support thriving lifestyles. Michigan’s leaders have embraced placemaking.

The fifth module, Collaborative Public Involvement in Placemaking explains the importance of effective and meaningful public participation to ensure communities get consensus on placemaking plans and projects. It presents different public participation methods, the most effective planning processes for certain types of objectives. There is a major focus on the elements of collaborative design as achieved through the charrette process.
