After one year off, CEDAM is thrilled to host its signature Real Estate Development Boot Camp training! We worked with consultants, stakeholders, and members to develop a new, expanded curriculum to better meet the needs of community developers and those looking to revitalize their communities through real estate development.
In addition to understanding the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, participants of CEDAM's Boot Camp will gain an understanding of what development is and why it matters through the lens of the community development field, understand key players in the development ecosystem, learn about funding sources for small- to medium-size projects, community engagement strategies, and more.
The first part of boot camp will be live virtual learning and take place over 2.5 days November 8-10.
What we'll cover November 8-10:
This will be followed by pre-recorded lessons starting in December and going through April 2022. The cohort will meet monthly to discuss the pre-recorded sessions.
Topics include: Calculating tax credits, LIHTC reporting requirements and application timelines; working with syndicators when bidding out equity; multi-investment funds vs direct investment; working with diverse cultures, making the case for affordable housing, and more!
Given the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will aim to meet in-person as a cohort at the end of April 2022.
